How Many Crickets am I raising?
In late spring and early summer of 2016, I was delivering 1200 grams weekly to The Ohio Wildlife Center hospital. There are approximately 3 near-adult crickets per gram, so over 3,000 crickets delivered. Other non-profit entities are also beneficiaries of my endeavor. All of these crickets come from a maximum of 45 female and 5 male crickets in a breeding cycle. I may adjust the numbers down for off-season, but keep at least 30 females and 10 males for genetic diversity. All I raise are given away, I have not sold or eaten one (yet).

This is the results of 3 days of hatching from 35 females. The box above is 18 x 12 inches, probably over 3,000 pinheads. The picture below shows the pinheads with a pencil for size reference.
